The main theme of the magazine 'Dilettante' issue 92 (August 2023) is the Furies of Revolution.

No matter the history of which revolution you take, be it Russian, French, or even Cuban, there were many women among its active participants. Some of them even surpassed men in cruelty and bloodthirstiness. The most fanatical and desperate ladies earned the nickname 'Furies of Revolution'. In the traditional worldview, a woman - the giver of life and the keeper of the family hearth - by her very nature should resist the destructive nature of revolution in every way. In practice, it turned out differently.
Women played a very active role in the French Revolution. Some used the changes to start the fight for equality with men, others became radical fighters against the monarchy, and some even took up arms. Charlotte Corday - the daughter of a poor Norman nobleman - sincerely sympathized with the cause of the revolution. Being a convinced republican and a supporter of the Girondists, Corday decided to oppose violence with violence. She achieved the incredible feat of planning and carrying out, single-handedly, the murder of Jean-Paul Marat - the ideologue of the Jacobin terror.
In the list of women from Lenin's inner circle, Nadezhda Krupskaya and Inessa Armand undoubtedly hold the first and second places, changing positions depending on the circumstances of the leader's life. Margarita Fofanova can be included in the top five of this list (along with Stasova and Fotieva). Alexandra Kollontai has become a mythical figure 70 years after her death. But even during her lifetime, many myths were created about her - this lady's extraordinary way of thinking was too unconventional even for her fellow revolutionaries. 'Commissars' - this word is used to refer to female employees of Soviet security agencies, devoid of any pity or compassion towards those they suspected of 'counterrevolutionary activities'.
The main figures of the revolution in Cuba are male, the main faces being the Castro brothers and Che Guevara. There were few female combatants, but they can rightfully be called so: Cuban women revolutionaries went through underground activities, partisan units, and prisons.

In the regular sections:
In the Attribution section, Alexander Kibovsky once again reminded readers that only in combination with other knowledge, iconographic equations help find the correct answer, and Alexey Kuznetsov in the Process section talked about how if the history of the Russian state is rich in riots, conspiracies, and rebellions, and if the 17th century is called 'riotous', starting with the Time of Troubles and ending with the Streltsy 'shakings', then the following century should rightfully be called 'conspiratorial'. Yulia Demidenko in the 'Wardrobe' section told about the costume of Scottish Highlanders. In the Comics section (Event of August) - The Campaign of Tokhtamysh on Moscow. Readers can also expect spreads to Look at, read, play, as well as a crossword and much more.
