A democrat and humanist, the creator of new Japanese poetry, the founder of realism in Japanese literature, Ishikawa Takuboku (1885 - 1912) lived a short life but remained in people's memories as an eternal youth. His creative legacy is vast and multifaceted. Everywhere he is an innovator, striving towards the future, expressing the thoughts and aspirations of the progressive youth of his time. Ishikawa Takuboku is one of the most beloved poets in Japan. Many of his poems have become folk songs, which is a great honor for a poet. They contain beautiful images of the homeland. "Mothers sing these songs over their children's cradles. They have been passed down from generation to generation until they became the song of all Japan," said a well-known Japanese literary critic. The book includes selected lyrics by Ishikawa Takuboku. The cover features a silk print with gold embossing.
