The name of the novel of the Swiss prose writer, laureate of the prize named after Ernst Vilner, Hinets Helle (b. 1978) "Love. Football. Consciousness" very accurately conveys its content. The hero of the novel, a German student who studies philosophy in New York, is trying to apply the theory of consciousness to his own sense of life and understand his relationship with his beloved woman, but both of him are poorly out of his hands. But he completely manages to spend time in the bar and watch football. This is the first acquaintance of the Russian reader with the author, gaining more and more popularity in Europe
