The novel in three parts 'Love and Crime' is based on a real criminal case. Criminality penetrates into all areas of business, and the banking sector is not exempt from attention. Some banks use the so-called protection racket, while others are subjected to open robbery and armed attacks. The heroes of the novel actively engage in a fight against the organized criminal community led by the criminal authority Smysleny. Several criminal groups, including the one led by Machinist, are under his command. MVD officer Gribkov actively works on developing criminals and involves other characters of the novel in their investigation.
