Chinese poetry captivated our readers at the height of the 'Golden Age' of Russian literature: the first translation of a Chinese poem into Russian was done by Afanasy Fet (his 'Shadow' was published in 1856).
Collected under one cover are 200 poems by 75 Chinese poets from the 6th to the 13th centuries in brilliant translations by Vladimir Markov, Konstantin Balmont, Venedikt Mart, Nikolay Novich, Yulian Shchutsky, Vasily Alexeev, and others.
