Under the canvas and paints, behind the beauty and fame, there was a painting that was consumed by the evil lurking in the dark web of the underground art world...
Luke Perrone, an artist and the great-grandson of the man who stole the "Mona Lisa," and Alix Verde, the daughter of a shadowy art collector, accidentally discover an antique portrait of a man with a red beard beneath a cheap painting. It could possibly be Van Gogh's last self-portrait, which disappeared without a trace after his funeral. To confirm its authenticity, Luke and Alix must solve more than one artistic puzzle.
When the painting is stolen just a few days later, Perrone, along with Interpol agent John Washington Smith, embark on a deadly search that will not only reveal the secrets of Van Gogh's final days, but also transport them to one of the darkest eras in history...
