The textbook is devoted to the study of local heat transfer in piston engines. A significant part of it is written on the basis of the results obtained in the MSTU. N.E. Bauman. A number of issues in the theory of piston engines are considered for the first time. This textbook, written on the basis of a textbook with the same name (1st ed. - 2001, 2nd ed. - 2007), includes new materials that reflect the achievements of recent years in this area of science. The content of the textbook corresponds to the course of lectures, which the author gives to the MSTU named after N.E. Bauman.
