Poems. For younger school age. Irina Petrovna Tokmakova was born in Moscow in 1929 into the family of an electrical engineer and a doctor. It is known that from a young age, Irina Tokmakova was passionate about poetry, composing poems. She became a linguist, having graduated from the Philological Faculty of Moscow State University in 1953, and worked as a translator. Meeting Mr. Borgkvist, an energy specialist from Sweden, turned out to be a pivotal moment in her literary activity. Borgkvist gave her a book of Swedish children's songs. Irina translated several for her son... Her husband, Lev Tokmakov, really liked the translation, and he showed the poems to a publishing house. Irina Tokmakova's first book was called 'Trees'.
