The book features tales by the famous English writer, Nobel Prize laureate in Literature, traveler, and journalist Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936). He never considered himself a children's writer, but his stories about the boy Mowgli and the famous Just So Stories - tales known to us in various translations and under different names, made him famous.
As often happens, Kipling composed his tales specifically for his children, who were the first listeners and critics. In these amusing why-stories, English humor and the folklore of distant lands are combined. They echo ancient myths and legends that people told each other at the dawn of civilization.
The tales are presented in the translation of Lyubov Borisovna Khavkina, a theorist and organizer of library affairs in Russia, a person in love with books and who dedicated her entire life to them.
For middle school age.
