The manual is designed for organizing both in-class and extracurricular activities aimed at developing and improving reading literacy skills in younger schoolchildren. Reading literacy is the foundation for acquiring and perfecting a whole range of skills that form the basis of functional literacy as a whole: from subject-specific to global and personal skills. The educational manual "Reading Literacy. Development. Diagnosis. 3rd Grade" is developed with the goal of making the process of forming reading literacy skills in younger students as effective and interesting as possible for the student. The manual is structured on a modular principle. Each module includes a text and comprehensive tasks related to it. The tasks encourage the student to independently search for solutions and ways to fix them, to rethink their own knowledge and experience, and to build hypotheses. The content of the manual contributes to developing readiness to cope with difficulties when facing atypical tasks in all areas of life. The structure of the manual includes tasks for initial and final diagnostics, as well as a system of training tasks. Answers to some tasks are varied, and the correctness criterion is determined taking into account the student's explanations or arguments.
