Control and self -control are the most important components of educational activity. Carrying it systematically on individual topics, sections, the teacher prepares students for the conscious performance of educational tasks at all stages of the assimilation of knowledge and skills. Test tasks in the proposed manual for students in grades 1-2 are developed in accordance with the program of teaching reading in primary school and are suitable for any textbooks on the subject "Literary reading". Questions and tasks of tests develop mental operations in children, teach them to generalize phenomena, establish causal relationships, and encourage knowledge in practice. The use of the presented test tasks will ensure the possibility of an objective assessment of the knowledge and skills of students, will determine the degree of assimilation of the program material at the minimum and at a higher level, in a new situation. Test tasks for current knowledge control contain a small number of questions (5-7) Their execution will take no more than 7-10 minutes. It will reduce the time and the form of the tasks, it will allow more rationally to use the time of the lesson, quickly establish feedback with students and determine the results of the assimilation of the material, focus on spaces in knowledge and skills and make adjustments to them, solving the problem of self -development.
