The book tells the story of the life and fate of the great Soviet car designer Andrey Alexandrovich Lipgart (1898–1980). The cars created under his leadership - the "Emka", ZIM, GAZ-51, and others - became vivid visual symbols of several eras, and Lipgart's main masterpiece, the M-20 "Victory", is rightfully considered one of the most outstanding cars in the world. The book, created based on documents from the Lipgart family archive and the funds of the GAZ History Museum, thoroughly reveals the history of the creation of the epochal "Victory", with much attention given to the labor feat of the workers of the Gorky Automobile Plant during the Great Patriotic War, describing the difficult fate of the designer in the post-war years. The publication is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of A. A. Lipgart and the 80th anniversary of the beginning of work on the "Victory".
