The monograph discusses the problem of ambiguity of the concept of "folk culture" and two new angles of its consideration are proposed-socio-informational and conceptual-civilizational. Within the framework of these approaches, the authors characterize different types of folk culture (traditional and mass) through the linguistic -semiotics of the funeral. The material of the study is the dialectic speech of residents of the agricultural terrain, folklore epitaphs in city cemeteries, as well as the names of city ritual agencies. Language data are balanced in accordance with several principles of streamlining the material - semiotic, thematic and geographical.
