This book is a textbook based on a series of lectures given by the author at the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics at Moscow State University. The book covers the basic concepts and facts of the theory of finite-dimensional spaces, linear mappings acting on them, and bilinear forms. It discusses the properties of linear mappings in Euclidean, unitary, and normed spaces, as well as elements of tensor algebra. Significant attention is paid to the fundamentals of the theory of convex sets in finite-dimensional spaces, including their topological classification. The presentation is accessible and accompanied by a large number of examples of both theoretical and applied nature. The book is intended for university students majoring in Applied Mathematics. It will also be useful for graduate students, teachers, and researchers.
