The book includes three classic and from childhood favorite poetic tales of Korney Chukovsky "Aibolit", "Barmaley" and "Phone", created in the 1920s.
The fun rhythmic name of the collection - "Limpopo" - was not chosen by chance. So the author first called his fairy tale about Dr. Aibolite. Under this title, she was first published in the Hedgehog magazine in 1929 and was published by the first separate publication in the Leningrad Children"s Purchase in 1935 with the drawings of V. Konashevich.
All three works of the collection are united by one fabulous and geographical space - African. And this is understandable: after all, Africa for a child of those years was no less outlandish and unattainable place than the magical "distant kingdom."
The magnificent illustrations of the book schedule of Mikhail Mayofis are performed by fiction, irony and children"s innocence, in spirit they are deeply related to Chukovsky’s texts
