Boris Messerer (b. 1933) is a painter, graphic artist, and set designer, and the author of the memoir "The Glimpse of Bella". The legendary ballet family of Messerers and Plisetskys, working with the best theater directors, twenty solo exhibitions, and of course, a friendly environment - the artist was rightfully called the king of the bohemia. However, he always considered his greatest life success to be the opportunity to engage in pure painting. In the book "Life Turns into Memory," Boris Asafovich writes about great teachers: A. Fonvizin, A. Tyshler, V. Elkonin, close comrades and colleagues: L. Zbarsky, Yu. Krasno, S. Barkhin, V. Levental, E. Kochergin, S. Alimov, and many others. He talks about his vision of their art and recalls warm meetings. From this mosaic, a portrait of an era gradually emerges. "I tell about those wonderful artists who lived and created before my eyes, who made a strong impression on me and influenced my development. Thus, memories of friends have formed into a creative autobiography." The reissue is supplemented with chapters on Sergei Parajanov, Gayane Khachaturian, Lado Gudiashvili, Zurab Tsereteli, Suliko Virsaladze, Vadim Ryndin, and new photographs.
