Julia Dobrovolskaya was born in Nizhny Novgorod in 1917. Translator of Italian fiction, teacher of Italian in the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages (1946-1950) and at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (1956-1965) Author of textbooks, dictionaries. In Italy, where she lives since 1982, Julia Dobrovolskaya taught Russian, as well as the theory and practice of translating at Universities Milan, Venice, Trieste. Twice (1976, 1987) awarded a prestigious premium for the culture of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers of Italy. Currently lives in Milan.
