A well-known French psychologist in this work explicates fundamentally important for the psychoanalytic theory of representation of unconscious impulses that determine human behavior. The problems of the logical completion of the theory of psychoanalysis, according to the author"s conviction, are related to the clarification of the meaning and place of the ideas about life and death, both in theory and in practice. The attraction for life is considered as one of the most controversial concepts of psychoanalysis, and it is wrong to take it as a higher primality, both anthropological and biological, underlying and human nature, as such and the entire biosphere as a whole. Earlier, the Russian Psychoanalytic Dictionary was translated into the Russian language (in collaboration with J.B. Pontalis)
