The book for the first time sheds light on the spatial organization of the activities of a public, predominantly urban, library as a necessary prerequisite for its positive development. Space is considered as a constantly changing image of the library, influenced by social factors of external order, as well as professional features of user interaction in traditional and digital environments. The focus is on the communicative nature of modern library processes, transforming perceptions of library resource utilization during service, its comfort, and the potential to turn space into a truly public and social environment. Specific examples reveal the principles and characteristics of library space as a free, open, transparent universe, the visual imagery of which requires new approaches to work, including well-known forms such as book-illustrative exhibitions.
