Language material cited in the book partially learned from the Soviet and foreign lexicological and lexicographic literature, partly is the result of the author"s own observations. The course of the course is illustrated by literary examples taken mainly from the English literature of the 20th century, since the author sought to give a description of the vocabulary composition of the English language in its modern state. The translation is not given for all examples, as it is assumed that the reader already has a significant stock of words and some translation skills. For students, graduate students and teachers of language faculties.
