This is a novel about real love, a strong, non-water-free fate, an inimitable epic on the privacy and history of the country.
Summer 1918. The first world is coming to an end when Leon gets acquainted in a small French town of Leon with Young Louise and falls in love with her. Their beautiful romance could grow into a long lucky life, but fate ordered otherwise: lovers fall under the German acting and for a long time consider each other dead.
In two decades, they are accidentally found in Paris. However, fate brings them again: the German invasion of France (this is the second world war), and most importantly, Louise"s refusal to destroy Leon"s marriage lead to the next parting of the heroes of the novel. In Occupied Paris during the war, Leon fights against the disgusting tasks imposed on the SS. And Louise, an employee of a bank sent to Africa with a national gold reserve, opposes the difficulties surrounding it. With all the lives of life, the heroes never forget about their love.
