This book is a guide to Leningrad as it was from 1944 to 1978, when Sergei Dovlatov, the most popular Russian prose writer of the second half of the 20th century, walked with his nanny, went to school, studied at the university, fell in love, got married, wrote stories, and tried to get them published. Three routes will lead readers to memorable places, introduce them to the urban landscape of late Leningrad, and provide historical context. The fourth edition includes new memories, previously unnoticed details, clarifications, and additions.
