The new work of the famous Australian writer Dando-Collinza, the author of many books on the history of antiquity, is dedicated to the imperial legions of Rome. The author collected and systematized information about all the legions of Rome since the creation of each of them, traced their combat path, noting successes and defeats in battles. Dando-Collinz studied in detail the selection conditions and methods of military training of legionnaires, described their weapons, equipment, military differences and awards, a wage system, features of discipline and punishments. Having analyzed the structure of the legions, the strategy and tactics of fighting, the author paid special attention to the battles and conquests of the Roman Empire, and also presented portraits of the great emperors and commanders.
