The book is a collection of Irish traditions, compiled by the famous folklorist and linguist Jeremy Curtin. The author united these traditions drawn in Gaelian storytellers in two groups: the first proposes Irish versions of the common European fairy tales, in the second - stories from the cycle about Fenia, about Finn McCumail and his warriors, Erina"s Fenia. At the same time, fabulous elements are present in all stories, including the battles with giants, the dead, returning to life, people turning into animals, amazing lands of eternal youth and heroes with incredible power
