Lectures on medical biophysics

This book is based on lectures that the authors have been giving for many years at the medical-biological faculty of N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University and the faculty of fundamental medicine of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. The textbook presents three main sections of fundamental medical biophysics, arranged in order of increasing complexity of biophysical systems - quantum, molecular, and cellular biophysics. The book covers topics such as the interaction of light with matter, photobiological processes, free radicals in biological systems, methods for studying protein structures, the structure and functions of protein molecules, membrane structure, substance transport across membranes, and bioelectrogenesis. The distinctive feature of the textbook is the problem-oriented presentation of the material and the illustration of it with the authors' own scientific data. The textbook can be recommended to students and postgraduates of higher educational institutions in medical and biological specialties, as well as to teachers.
