The facial Bible of the Russian Bible Society includes 110 bar engravings from the front-sided Bible 1914 (94 illustrations to the Old Testament and 16 illustrations to the revelation of Ap. John the Theologian), as well as 35 illustrations for the Gospels and Acts of St. Apostles, made by modern Moscow icon painters Alexander Sokolov and Valery Bladyuk. Each illustration is accompanied by parallel texts in Russian and Church Slavonic languages (Russian is given by the synodal translation, Slavic - by the 1900 year) Thus, before us, there are three texts: the traditional Slavic, Russian and text, written in the special symbolic language of Byzantine-Russian iconography
