The book discusses how complex human movements are, especially in sports. Hundreds of movements in an athlete's body joints come together, continuously changing and leading to remarkable results - records. What unites the multitude of movements into a coherent action? How is movement controlled in split seconds? What leads to the best achievements in a complex, rapidly changing competitive environment? To what extent can an athlete's individual characteristics manifest in their technique? Lastly, how can one master sports technique and improve it, following what laws does technical mastery develop?
The author attempts to answer these questions in a series of essays in this book, outlining the basics of the theory of movement structurality. The laws of movement in the light of this theory represent a further development of biomechanics - the science of movements that uses physics, physiology, and cybernetics in their modern development.
