The monograph presents an author’s view of one of the most important sections of digital forensics, revealing the basics of the mechanism of trace formation in the cybernetic space. This is one of the most debatable areas of modern development of forensic science.
In the work, the features of the cybernetic space as a new specific environment of the formation of traces of illegal actions are analyzed. The features of the electronic digital display of interacting objects in an artificial environment formed on the basis of computer systems are considered.
On the examples of the formation of digital audio and video recordings, the results of digital photographs, as well as the formation of traces in computer systems that implement the most common information and telecommunication technologies, the fundamental features of the trace formation mechanism in computer systems are shown, the basic forensic properties of the resulting traces are considered.
