The monograph was based on the author"s textbook “The Law of the European Union and the Practice of the Court of the European Union” (Moscow: Norma, 2015), as well as articles published in Russian scientific journals. The main feature of this book is the emphasis on the analysis of the decisions of the Court of the European Union. This approach reveals not only the logic of the formation of the law of the European Union, but also the importance of legal norms in their practical application, their “thin configuration” in relation to specific cases.
The book reveals the properties of the law of the European Union, the principles of the functioning of the institutional system of the European Union, the special role of the Court of the European Union, as well as the law of the domestic market of the European Union (freedom of movement of goods, persons, services and capital, the right of competition) A number of issues studied in the Russian legal literature are highlighted: features of direct action of directives, the specifics of the procedures of direct and indirect appeal of regulatory legal acts of the European Union, the ratio of the right to compete and protect intellectual property.
