The monograph considers the issues of the origin, formation and development of international private law (MSP) as a science and an independent branch of law. The development of conflict (conflict) law is shown from the XII century. and ending with the beginning of the 20th century, more precisely, 1917. In particular, the main historical stages of development of the science of international private law in Europe are highlighted by lawyers of Italy, France, Holland, Germany, England and Russia until the beginning of the 20th century. The main ideas and doctrines in the science of the MPP are presented, a number of copyright positions and conclusions regarding the illuminated topic, as well as proposals for the further development of science of the MPP, are expressed.
