The monograph discusses the general theoretical and practical issues of the legal status of the indigenous peoples of Russia and some foreign countries. Its content is based on international legal documents, national legislation of individual states and law enforcement practice. The study was conducted by an author’s team, which includes both representatives of Russia and foreign specialists involved in the problem of protecting the rights of the Aboriginal population.
The monograph gives an idea of the legislative regulation of the status of the indigenous (small) peoples of Russia and countries such as Canada, Norway, Mexico, the USA, as well as Ecuador, Colombia and other Latin America countries. The work is reflected in the views of scientists regarding the assessment of the current national legislation, the prospects for its development, guarantees of the rights of the indigenous population.
