The work is one of the first comprehensive monographic studies affecting the issues of reproductive human rights in the field of surrogate motherhood, causing the most acute disputes of lawyers, sociologists, doctors and representatives of religious organizations in Russia. The monograph considers the history of the formation and development of the institution of surrogate motherhood. The author draws attention to the absence in the theory, legislation and practice of a single approach to solving key issues of this method of auxiliary reproductive technologies. The study was carried out taking into account the current state of solving theoretical and practical problems in this area. Based on the analysis, conclusions were drawn that have both theoretical and practical significance, specific recommendations were formulated to improve legislation in the field of surrogate motherhood.
