The presented commentary on the Criminal Executive Code of the Russian Federation (hereinafter-the PEC of the Russian Federation) reflects the content of this federal law and copyright explanations both on issues of content and on the application of this law. The commentary of the law is based on its deep study, as well as the study of the positions of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation on the application of the norms of criminal-executive legislation. The text of the commentary is also widely used by the materials of by -laws of regulatory legal acts governing the execution of criminal punishments. It should be noted that the commentary is based on the analysis and generalization of modern achievements of the science of criminal executive law and the practice of execution of sentences.
In general, the comment is built in accordance with the structure of the PEC of the Russian Federation. The general part analyzes the main, fundamental provisions related to the execution of punishments of all types.
A special part is devoted to the consideration of the legal aspects of the execution of certain types of punishment, monitoring the behavior of conditionally convicted, release from serving the sentence and assisting the released convicts.

The proposed publication is primarily focused on persons professionally involved in the execution of criminal punishment: judges, prosecutors, employees of the penal system, disciplinary military units , military police officers. It seems that the comment can also be useful in the field of human rights activities: employees of the authorized devices, lawyers, human rights activists and other persons. This publication may be not celebrated for the convicts themselves, as well as their relatives. And finally, the comment can be of interest to teachers and scientists, graduate students and students of educational institutions of the legal profile.
