Dmitry Ivanovich Meyer is a pioneer of Russian civilism. In the course of lectures read at Kazan University in the middle of the XIX century, which his students and followers prepared for the publication after the untimely death of the professor, he gives the first in the history of Russia the harmonious system of the subject and tasks of civil law.
In addition to the text of "Russian civil law", the book includes the preface by A.Kh. Golmssten to the 6th (1894), 8th (1902) publications and biography D.I. Meyer and A.I. Vitsyna, also written by A.Kh. Golmssten. All texts are reproduced according to the 8th, corrected and supplemented publication of 1902
