The monograph explores issues of legal nature and the essence of the Regulation on the rational period of criminal proceedings. Based on the analysis of international law and Russian criminal procedure legislation, the procedure for the implementation of the requirements for the implementation of criminal proceedings within a reasonable time, as well as the form and guarantee of the exercise of the right of an interested person to exercise the legal proceedings within a reasonable time. In addition, taking into account the currently available trends to accelerate and simplify criminal proceedings, the main directions of increasing its effectiveness are proposed.
