The monograph examines the problems of criminal law isolation (imprisonment for a certain period, lifelong imprisonment, arrest, death penalty and maintenance in the disciplinary military unit) in the historical, comparative legal, economic and other aspects. The issues of the theory of penitentiary abolitionism, the organization of private prisons, certain problems of the legal status of convicts are considered. The extensive practical material analyzes the existing problems of the execution of punishments related to isolation from society, and the possible ways to solve them are discussed. Considerable attention is paid to the problems of the system of institutions and bodies performing punishments related to isolation from society.
