Decisions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation occupy a special place in the legal system of the country as a whole and in the criminal process in particular. Many changes in criminal procedure legislation are due to the legal positions of this court and are aimed at ensuring the effective protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the individual in criminal proceedings. Also, the shortcomings and violations available in criminal procedure practice are largely explained by ignorance of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, in which the norm of the criminal procedure law is recognized, although it is recognized as the relevant constitution of the Russian Federation, but is subject to application in accordance with its interpretation, given by the court.
The publication provides a review of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation on criminal proceedings for 2014-2021. With a brief presentation of their content.
