The monograph covers the main aspects of land law acting in the countries of Africa, the laws of conventional land tenure, the usual rights to water, forest, grazing, hunting, the influence of the colonial era on the system of ordinary land tenure, the rights of African women to land. The characteristic of the rights to land and water in Islamic law is given. The current state of formal land law in the countries of Northern, Western, Central and Eastern Africa is analyzed: land ownership and other natural resources, types of diverse rights to land and natural resources, the ratio of formal law with conventional land tenure systems.
