The sixth book of the Code of Justinian opens the publication of the first full translation into Russian with the parallel Latin text of this fundamental monument of ancient Rome. The Code is the first component of the Codification of Justinian, carried out in the VI century. N.E. In the eastern part of the Roman Empire (Byzantium) Codex iustinianus played a huge role as a source of knowledge about Roman law for many generations of lawyers since the Middle Ages, retaining its outstanding significance for modern jurisprudence. The sixth book of the Code contains mainly the norms of Roman inheritance law.
