The proposed monograph is devoted to the analysis of the principle of individualization in the sentencing, as well as its criteria. It sets a goal: identifying the law -making and law enforcement problems that arise in the process of implementing the principle of individualization of punishment, and the formulation of scientifically substantiated recommendations for improving the Russian criminal law and the practice of its application in this field.
The author considers the individualization of punishment through the prism of the principles of criminal law, then reveals the criteria for individualization, which are divided into two large groups: general and special. The following is the analysis of each criterion of individualization from theoretical and practical positions, as well as through data formulated on the basis of the surveying of judges.
The work is intended mainly for judges, but can be used by employees of other law enforcement agencies, as well as scientists, teachers, graduate students and students of legal educational institutions.
