The work is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of indications from “other people"s words” in the general system of means of criminal procedure proof, as well as certain ways to obtain derivative evidence in criminal cases and procedural means to verify their reliability. The deficit of normative regulation of derivative evidence gives rise to the theory and practice of proving the problem of ensuring procedural guarantees of the use of derivative evidence in the criminal proceedings obtained from the words of the participant in the criminal process or other person. The work summarized the precedent practice of the European Court of Human Rights, expressed in decisions adopted by complaints against the countries of the Convention "On the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms of November 4, 1950, on the issue of violation of the right to interrogate the witness, showing against the accused, and the rights to a fair trial, which are considered in the work in a systemic relationship. The publication was prepared by the state of the legislation as of January 1, 2017. The book will be useful to scientific and practical workers, lawyers, investigators and investigators, judges, teachers, graduate students, students, as well as everyone who is interested in the problems of proof in criminal proceedings
