The work discusses the ideological and legal origins of the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, which is one of the most working international legal documents. The book includes publications of the author on the chosen topic over the past 20 years in Russia and abroad. A scientific and practical analysis of individual articles of the Convention is carried out on the basis of precedents of the European Court of Human Rights. The emphasis has been placed on the analysis of the interpretation of the so -called new rights. The final section is devoted to the problem of the implementation of the Convention from the point of view of both legal theory and the practice of enforcing decisions of the European Court in the Russian Federation.
