Annotation to the book "Decisions of International Courts. Arbitration courts. Constant Chamber of International Justice. International Tribunal on the Law of the Tolstoy V. L.:
This book contains more than 200 resumes of decisions of international courts made on interstate disputes. We are talking about decisions of arbitration courts (including ships formed under the auspices of the Standing Chamber of the arbitration court), the permanent chamber of international justice of the League of Nations and the International Tribunal on Sea Law. The resume of the UN MS decisions are not given, they can be found on the court website. The resume reveals the grounds for the jurisdiction of the court, features of the process, the main facts, arguments of the parties, motives and conclusions of the court. The most important elements of solutions are given in the form of direct quotes. Many resumes are divided into paragraphs that structure the text in a semantic sense. Many of the decisions presented acquired a case significance, influenced law -making (concluding contracts and the formation of customs), contributed to the development of the doctrine. Some decisions became the final stage in the settlement of complex political disputes. In a number of cases, the courts used approaches that are not used at present, but retaining potential, we are talking about resolving the dispute ex Aequo et bono, a combination of a judicial function with reconciliation, etc. The book is divided into four sections. The decisions are listed in the order in which they are given on the sites of the relevant courts, or (in the case of arbitration courts) in chronological order. The book covers the period since 1794 (Jay Treaty) to the present. The thematic pointer distributes decisions on the areas of international relations (branches of international law).
The book is recommended for teachers of international law, students and graduate students studying this subject, diplomats, lawyers practicing in the field of international law, and all interested issues of international relations
