This monograph is a comprehensive study of the issues of establishing criminal liability for criminal acts against life in countries belonging to the family of common law - in England, the United States of America and Canada. The work demonstrates that, despite the identical categories of criminal acts and provided for their punishment, legislators and law enforcement officers in many aspects are approached in different ways to determine the principles of criminal impact on crime, establish a circle of crimes, the appointment and use of punishments and the use of punishments and the use of punishments and other measures of criminal law. All the acts, the object of the encroachment of which is human life in its understanding by lawyers of the studied countries, are systematized using the traditions that have developed in the methodology.
Not limited to purely theoretical issues, the author seeks to show the most complex practical problems of the application of existing legal norms. Separate attention in the work is paid to the special law enforcement officers in the work of the states considered in the work, the approach to determining the object of the crimes studied - life, and, as a result, an independent group of criminal acts, the object of which is the life of an unborn person, in fact a future life. The monograph also affected many other urgent problems of bioethics in their criminal law context, as well as ways to solve complex legal and ethical issues in law and order, which have become the object of study. The work also contains specific recommendations for improving Russian criminal law.
