During the late Middle Ages, Europe has changed a lot. With the growth of cities, the population increased, new states arose, bloody battles for power and new lands occurred. Kings and nobles built castles, the church erected magnificent cathedrals, and through the entire era in a red thread the struggle between the spiritual and secular power passed. From other continents were foreign invaders - the Moors from Africa, the Mongols from Asia, and millions of lives were carried away by the Black Death - a terrible epidemic of the plague. Despite this, great successes were achieved in management and education, shifts in arts and even science became noticeable. This predetermined the greatest take -off that occurred in the Renaissance
