Peter Zilahi was born in 1970 in Budapest. He studied English philology, anthropology of culture and philosophy at the university. In the literature, he made his debut with a collection of poems (1993), but gained genuine fame after the publication of the novel "The Last Windows" (1998), translated since then into 14 languages. Using the form of illustrated children"s vocabulary, Peter Zilahi created the Encyclopedia of the Balkans and, wider, eastern Europe - this "dump of peoples", which once again appeared in the last decades of the twentieth century at the dramatic crossroads of history. The Book of Zilahi is awarded a number of international awards. The multimedia version of the novel was shown on Broadway, in Germany, London "Covent Garden"
