The book is the first in domestic literary criticism a detailed monographic study devoted to the study of the reconstruction of the lyrical principle in the tragedy of Shakespeare "King Lear", one of the most famous and indicative works of the playwright. The study proposes methods for analyzing the lyrical principle in the work and identifying the features of its functional diversity using the example of the most recognized translations of the tragedy made by T.L. Shchepkina-Kupernik and B.L. Pasternak. The special significance of this work is to expand ideas about the lyrical beginning of a dramatic work in the process of translation reception.
