The monograph sets out the results of a study conducted by a team of teachers of the Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University named after ON THE. Dobrolyubov in the framework of the scientific project “Basic principles of training teachers of translation”. The authors analyze the situation in Russian universities with teaching translation, justify the need to create a fundamentally new system of professional training of translation teachers and set out the basic methodological and methodological principles on which such a system should be based. The monograph contains and systematized materials, some of which were previously published in the form of separate articles
