The traditional linguistics Olympiad first took place in Moscow in 1965. In 2020, a jubilee, fifty olympiad was held. A collection was released for the anniversary, which includes the memoirs of the participants of the Olympics - from a seven -grader to the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who helped to conduct the very first Olympics. The traditional Olympiad in linguistics played a huge role in the formation of the Moscow linguistic community. Participants in the Olympiad recall her unusual atmosphere, friends, future colleagues and sometimes even spouses with whom they met at the Olympics.
The second part of the collection is the tasks of linguistic olympiads mentioned in the memoirs, and the answers to them. Many of these tasks were not previously published in collections.
The collection is addressed to a wide book of readers.
