The monograph contains and structured data from studies addressed to the phenomenon of text nomination, to the principles and means of forming the first plan and the background in the narrative text, to speech and compositional techniques for managing reader attention. In the first part of the book (chapters 1-5), the ratio and interaction of the domestic and foreign scientific traditions of studying text nomination is traced, and a review of previously unequestful scientific works in this area is presented. The second part of the work (chapter 6) introduces readers to various techniques for the formation of the first plan and the background in Russian original and translated narratives
